Seamless gutter installation prices
| System | Per linear foot | 150 ft single-story | 210 ft two-story |
|---|---|---|---|
| 5" aluminum, 2x3 downspouts | $11 – $14 | $1,650 – $2,100 | $2,300 – $2,950 |
| 5" aluminum, 3x4 downspouts | $12 – $15 | $1,800 – $2,300 | $2,500 – $3,200 |
| 6" aluminum, 3x4 downspouts | $14 – $18 | $2,100 – $2,700 | $2,950 – $4,200 |
| Aluminum half-round | $14 – $22 | $2,100 – $3,300 | quoted |
| Galvanized half-round | $16 – $26 | $2,400 – $3,900 | quoted |
| Copper half-round or K-style | $38 – $60 | $5,700 – $9,000 | quoted |
Those figures include removing and hauling the old system. Fascia work is added per foot when it is needed. Gutter replacement in Portland runs 15–25% above the national average, mostly because of labor rates and steep, complex roofs.
Gutter guards
Screen guards run $5–$9 a foot, stainless micro-mesh $10–$20, reverse-curve $18–$30. Across 150 feet that is anywhere from $750 to $3,000. Cheapest when installed with new gutters.
Gutter cleaning and moss removal
Single-story $130–$220, two-story $190–$320, roof-edge moss treatment $80–$200 extra.
What moves the price
- Stories and pitch. Two-story work and steep cedar-shake roofs cost 15–25% more for ladder standoffs, roof anchors and time.
- Roof complexity. Every inside corner is a mitre. A cut-up hip roof in the West Hills costs more per foot than a simple gable in Montavilla.
- Fascia condition. The biggest surprise on 1920s–40s homes. We check with a screwdriver before quoting so it is not a surprise on the invoice.
- Gutter size and profile. Going from 5-inch to 6-inch adds roughly a fifth; half-round adds roughly a third over K-style.
- Downspout routing. Tying into a buried rain drain, or running pipe to daylight on a hillside lot, adds real money and is worth every dollar on a basement.
- Access. Dense rhododendrons, decks, steep driveways and lots you cannot get a truck near slow the crew down.
Three real-world examples
1926 bungalow in Sellwood, single story, 140 feet of gutter. Original half-round, rusted along the bottom, fascia soft at two corners. Aluminum half-round with four 3-inch round downspouts, 16 feet of fascia replaced: about $2,900–$3,600. In copper the same job is $6,000–$7,500.
1972 ranch in Montavilla, single story, 160 feet. Sectional aluminum, seams weeping, one downspout on a 40-foot run. Five-inch seamless with 3x4 downspouts, one downspout added, drip edge on the back eave: about $2,000–$2,600.
1994 two-story in Beaverton, 220 feet, steep roof. Builder-grade gutters on spikes, overflowing at two valleys. Six-inch seamless with six 3x4 downspouts and micro-mesh guards: about $5,200–$7,000 with guards, $3,100–$4,200 without.
How to read a Portland gutter quote
Six things should be on it: the gauge (.032, not .027), hanger type and spacing (hidden screws at 24 inches), downspout size, whether the outlets are cut or punched, whether fascia and haul-away are in, and the CCB number. A gutter estimate Portland companies hand you that lands $700 under the rest usually got there with thin metal, spikes and 2x3 downspouts — the same spec as the gutters coming off. The post on repair versus replacement covers when it is worth spending at all.

Half-Round & Copper Gutters →Questions we get asked
Is it cheaper to repair or replace gutters?
Repair, if the gutters are aluminum or copper, under about 20 years old, and the problems are in a few spots. Replace if they are sectional, galvanized with rust along the bottom, or more than a third of the runs need work — patching adds up to a replacement without the warranty.
How much are gutters for a 1,500 sq ft Portland bungalow?
Usually 130–160 linear feet of gutter, so $1,600–$2,400 for 5-inch seamless aluminum with 3x4 downspouts, $2,000–$3,300 for aluminum half-round, and $5,000–$8,000 in copper. Fascia repair on a 1920s house is the common extra.
Does homeowners insurance cover gutter replacement in Oregon?
Only for sudden damage — a windstorm, a fallen fir limb, an ice storm — not for age, moss or wear. After a storm we photograph the damage and write the estimate in a form your adjuster can use.
